Protonix (Pantoprazole)

Protonix (Pantoprazole) is a group of drugs called proton pump inhibitors. Protonix (Pantoprazole) decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach and blocks the production of stomach acid. Generic Protonix (Pantoprazole) is used to heal a condition called erosive esophagitis (a severe inflammation of the passage to the stomach) brought on by a persistent backflow of stomach acid (gastroesophageal reflux disease) and other conditions involving excess stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
