Disorders such as erectile dysfunction (ED) and female sexual dysfunction are becoming increasingly more important as a result of the aging US population and newer therapies. Because this subject is discussed widely in the media, men and women of all ages are seeking guidance in an effort to improve their relationships and experience satisfying sexual lives. This review article discusses the physiology of the normal erection and the pathophysiology, etiology, and treatment of ED.

Many men mistakenly believe impotence is all the mind, the first global report on men's attitudes to sexual dysfunction. The study found that men in the world harbor the same misunderstandings about impotence. Results of survey of more than 4000 men on 10 countries today, showed that, on average, half of respondents in each country, the idea of impotence due to psychological factors like stress and anxiety. Less than 25% correctly identified high blood pressure and diabetes two physical conditions are associated with impotence. One of the three thought impotence was a natural consequence of aging. Depth of ignorance surrounding impotence is brutally illustrated by the death of 123 American men, many who took the impotence drug Viagra despite the warnings, that they were at risk because of heart conditions.

A psychological cause is rare: Doctors now believe that less than five per cent of impotence is due to purely psychological problems. Findings of a study, conducted by Mori and sponsored by Pfizer Inc, the makers are Viagra, the meeting was presented to the International Society for Impotence Research in Amsterdam. The men who took part in all of those aged over 40, were France, Germany, Mexico, Argentina, China, Morocco, Norway, South Korea, Sweden and Turkey. Britain was not involved in the investigation. Dr. Robert Krane Chairman of the department of urology at Boston University School of Medicine and former chairman, Isir, said: "It is time to dispel the view that Erectile Dysfunction is solely a psychological condition or simply part of aging, and educate people to the underlying disease and the modifiable risk factors that often promote erectile dysfunction."

Men are ignorant of Sexual impotence: Derek Machin, clinical director urology, University Hospital, Aintree, said: "The survey results are probably right. The men are quite ignorant of it. "It is a major problem for men's sexual health. The men are much less aware of their own health than women are to their health or even the men's health. "Men tend to later medical advice and is responsible for anything can be done about it. When they finally see a doctor is usually because their partner has forced them to go. "I saw some fine men are generally worse outcome than women." One in five suffers from The study found that one in five men admitted to experiencing impotence buy viagra jelly. The same proportion said knew someone who had been a prerequisite. List of 12 diseases, impotence was mentioned most frequently as the men were the least likely to seek help. Nearly half of all men questioned said that it is impotent caused or may cause, relationship problems. Although 84% said they have never initiated the discussion of their doctors about impotence, 66% agreed that talking about the problem would be helpful.

Considerable stigma: Michele Corrado, director of health and social research Mori, said: "The results show that there is considerable stigma of men in the world about sexual health problems, such as Ed. But at the same time, they believe that this stigma can be reduced, and more help if they talked about such of problems. " Nearly 72% of men in Germany, 68% in Argentina, and 68% in South Korea, the idea of impotence due to psychological factors, such as anxiety, stress and depression. Alcohol was cited cause impotence, 64% of Germans, 58% of Moroccans and 53% of Swedes.
More than two thirds of men in Germany and France, nearly half of men thought the Argentine impotence was due to relationship problems, such as the lack of attraction. Successful treatment of sexual dysfunction has been demonstrated to improve sexual intimacy and satisfaction, improve sexual aspects of quality of life, improve overall quality of life, and relieve symptoms of depression. Erectile dysfunction (ED, impotence) varies in severity; Deal with Erectile Dysfunction problem without prescription at Cheaper prices some men have a total inability to achieve an erection, others have an inconsistent ability to achieve an erection, and still others can sustain only brief erections. The variations in severity of erectile dysfunction make estimating its frequency difficult. Many men also are reluctant to discuss erectile dysfunction with their doctors, and thus the condition is under-diagnosed. Nevertheless, experts have estimated that erectile dysfunction affects 30 million men in the United States.

Antacid Sales top $ 10 billion annually Shoppillrx

Antacid sales top $ 10 billion annually Shoppillrx

Pharmacists can expect many questions from patients
Acid indigestion plagues a third of U.S. populationOften can not lead to peptic ulcer diseaseHeartburn may be a sign of gastroesophageal reflux diseaseAntacids neutralize stomach acid, relieving indigestion and heartburnEven when the economy is in better shape, acid indigestion and heartburn plagues about a third of the U.S. population. About 100 million Americans experience heartburn every month; about 15 million fighting it at least once a day.
Acid indigestion involves an excess of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. The symptoms may include the discomfort or a burning sensation on top of the stomach, dizziness, abdominal bloating, or belching. Often can not lead to irritation of the duodenum or an irritation of the lining of the stomach, both of which play can be a role in the development of peptic ulcer disease, which can be life-threatening.
Heartburn is a painful burning sensation in the throat, just below the breastbone, caused by stomach (gastric) acid flowing back to the throat. The disease often recess in chest and may radiate to the neck or throat. Heartburn may be a sign of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - damage to the esophagus that develops from chronic exposure to the throat of acid coming up from the stomach.
Antacids such as Anti-Acidity pills Nexium Generic, Prilosec Generic, Protonix Generic, Zantac (Ranitidine), Prevacid Generic, relieve indigestion and heartburn by neutralizing, or balancing, the stomach acid. Most OTC antacids containing one or more of the following active ingredients: aluminum hydroxide, calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and sodium bicarbonate. With more than $ 10 billion spent worldwide each year on antacids, pharmacists can expect to field any number of patients with questions and concerns.

Here are some cautions to remember: Many brands contains more than an active participant, so it is important for patients to read labels when they are shopping their doctors' recommendations. (Classes have shown that most people with heartburn and indigestion not seek medical attention.) patients who recently suffered extensive upper GI hemorrhage should not take antacids containing aluminum hydroxide without consulting their doctor. patients with impaired kidney function should not take antacids containing magnesium hydroxide their doctors' knowledge. Extended heavy use of antacids containing calcium (20 grams or more daily for a prolonged period) may cause excessive calcium in the blood, which can lead to kidney stones and reduced the stone function. People who already have impaired piece may develop milk-alkali syndrome (symptoms include dizziness, vomiting, mental confusion, and weight loss) when taking as little as 4 grams a day of antacids. overuse of antacids that contain aluminum can weaken bones, especially in people with impaired kidney function, leading to osteomalacia (softening of bones, which causes tenderness, muscular weakness, and weight loss).
The most common side effects of antacids Zantac (Ranitidine) is a chalky taste left in the mouth. Antacids containing magnesium can cause diarrhea. Those containing aluminum may cause constipation. Taking antacids that contain both aluminum and magnesium (eg, Maalox or Mylanta) May balance the effects. Prolonged use of antacids can result in dizziness, headache, muscle weakness, or weight loss. Antacids Zantac (Ranitidine) may affect the way a number of prescription drugs or a job are used by the body. Finally, with many drugs, antacids should be taken one to two hours before or after other medications.

NICE NEWS - NHS Speed up Drug Approval In UK !!! - Shoppillrx Health News

NHS Speed up Drug Approval In UK !!! - NICE decides what drugs the NHS should pay for. The government is to set out plans to speed up approval of drugs used in the National Health Service in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) can take up to two years to make a decision but ministers want this cut to six months. Patients will have their legal rights to drugs recommended by NICE laid out in the planned NHS constitution.
Health trusts will no longer be able to refuse drugs on cost grounds alone. The draft version of the constitution is expected to set out what patients and staff are entitled to from the NHS. This includes "fundamental principles" such as universal access to healthcare, and to drugs and treatments approved by NICE. for more information about cheap generic drugs please visit: http://www.shoppillrx.com/

Now A Virtual Man Will Predict Effect Of New Drugs

Now A "Virtual Man" Will Predict The Effects Of New Drugs!!!

PARIS: By 2020, the drug research and development process may be shortened by two thirds, clinical trial costs slashed and productivity increased dramatically, said the report from consultancy PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

New computing technologies and the evolution of a "virtual man" to predict the effects of new drugs before they enter clinical trials could transform the fortunes of pharmaceutical research, a report said on Friday.

"Pharma needs a faster, more predictive way of testing molecules before they go into humans," said Steve Arlington of PwC. In particular, the concept of a "virtual man" could evolve from linking emerging technologies, he said.

A marked slowdown in the rate of new drugs reaching the market - despite record rates of R&D investment - is arguably the biggest single challenge facing the global drugs industry. Big Pharma profits are in jeopardy since patents on many drugs launched in the 1990s will expire in the next few years and only four of the world's top 10 companies have enough new products to fill the looming sales gap, PwC said.
Improving innovation and boosting productivity is an issue taking centre stage at this week's annual meeting of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations.
Computer-generated virtual models of the heart, other organs and cell systems are already being developed to simulate the physiological effects of drugs, with impressive results. PwC said some companies using virtual technology had reduced clinical trial times by 40% and cut the number of patients required - a major cost - by two thirds.
New drug candidates developed from such computer modelling will still have to be tested on patients before they are approved, but by building up a much more complete picture beforehand companies should save both time and money.

Executives meeting in Paris fear the drug industry's ability to innovate is being hampered by soaring R&D costs, government cost-cutting measures and higher regulatory hurdles.
Many of those pressures are here to stay but PwC's Arlington thinks companies should be able to improve returns on investment by harnessing smart technology. For more information please visit http://www.shoppillrx.com/

Diaobesity in US, UK, Japan And World-Wide!!! | Shoppillrx.com

Diaobesity in US, UK, Japan And World-Wide - Shoppillrx Concern Over Increasing Effect of Diaobesity Health

Over Increasing Effect of Diaobesity: The need for nutritional assessment and counseling has never been more pressing than it is today due to the epidemic of chronic disease such as obesity, diabetes and hypertension. When we sit at the office till impossible hours to bring home a fat pay package we also pack this disease with it. You must climb the corporate ladder; you may be software professional working at odd hours during night shifts or catching the early morning flight for a business meet or a housewife like having servants, gadgets and kitty parties to attend. We are more at a risk because of sudden and dramatic change in our living conditions. Most of our grandparents and great grandparents were, physically active, with limited income and limited food resources. Our culture and eating followed a definite pattern. Today, we like change and that too very fast space.

We like instant mixes, infact we like a Continental breakfast, for lunch and Chinese for dinner. We have confused our genes thoroughly leaving no time for it to adapt to new change. Physiologically too we are at risk. Body composition show that we have more fat than muscle. The projection is that there will be Billions of diabetics in US, UK, Japan And World-Wide in the next coming years. The situation looks grim and no seeds will do miracles to keep away diabetes, unless you get aware and improve your health quotient from today. Obesity

With 61% of the U.S. adult population is considered overweight or obese, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute has released a new practical guide to help the physician to treat obese patients. It consists of 10-a plan to help nation's 97 million obese or overweight adults lose weight and thus reduce the risk of illness or death from hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and other conditions, which are linked to overweight.

Of particular interest to those who have diabetes, this is a specific recommendation: Weight loss is recommended to lower elevated blood glucose levels are overweight and obese persons with type 2 diabetes.
In this recommendation, the experts evaluated dozens of controlled clinical trials to determine the effect of weight loss for the period of fasting blood glucose and fasting insulin levels.

They found:

* Strong evidence that weight loss produced by lifestyle modification reduces the blood glucose concentration and HbA1c in some patients with type 2 diabetes.

* Suggestive evidence that the decrease in abdominal fat, improves glucose tolerance in overweight individuals with impaired glucose tolerance, although it is not independent of weight loss.

* Limited evidence that increased cardiorespiratory fitness improves glucose tolerance in overweight individuals with impaired glucose tolerance or diabetes, although it is not independent of weight loss.

* Suggestive evidence that weight loss caused by weight loss drugs do not appear to improve blood glucose levels any better than weight loss through life style management of overweight people, or type 2 diabetes.

In preparing a new practical guide to assist doctors in treating the obese and overweight patients, the panel reviewed the relevant treatment strategies designed for weight loss. The guidelines emphasize the efficiency of the possibilities for weight control, using a number of activities and strategies, such as:

* Dietary Care - Low Calorie diet - with a deficit of 500 .. calories / day - weight loss is recommended.

* Exercise - Individuals should start a moderate activity 30-45 minutes, 3 - 5 days / week and aims to at least 30 minutes or more of moderate physical activity most, preferably all days.

* Behavior therapy - This is a useful agent when incorporated into treatment for weight loss and weight maintenance.

* Medical treatment - the use of FDA-approved weight loss drugs, in conjunction with diet and exercise, results in weight loss when used for 6 months a year.

* Weight loss surgery is an option for carefully selected patients with clinically severe obesity when less invasive methods of weight loss have failed and the patient has a high risk of obesity-related illness or death.

In addition, the panel recommended that the nutrition therapy, exercise, and behavior therapy is used in combination for maximum success. The Panel recommends these methods to promote long-term weight control and prevent weight gain as well. for more information please visit : http://www.shoppillrx.com/
